From the 14th to the 18th centuries, it grew as a center of trade and diplomacy, a development attributed to its advanced urban planning (roads, canals, moats, etc.) and water management techniques for the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the area designated as a World Heritage Site is<strong>Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province<\/strong>It is centered around a historical park,<strong>Prang<\/strong>(Reliquary Tower) and large<strong>Ruins of a Buddhist temple<\/strong>These scattered remnants offer a glimpse into the site&#039;s former scale and prosperity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reasons why Ayutthaya was registered as a World Heritage Site<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following reasons have been given for Ayutthaya being registered as a World Heritage Site:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Criterion (iii)<\/strong>:<strong>The era in which Thailand&#039;s unique folk art flourished.<\/strong>It is evidence that demonstrates this in a particularly good way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ayutthaya, as the second capital city after Sukhothai, was a city that incorporated diverse cultural influences while building its own unique expression. The surviving temple architecture and art are considered to tell the story of that context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Details<a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/576\/\">UNESCO World Heritage Centre (English)<\/a>Please refer to the following.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The history of Ayutthaya (its prosperity and its fall in 1767)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ayutthaya is<strong>Around 1350<\/strong>Founded as a capital city, it grew into a hub of economic and diplomatic activity across a wide area of Indochina. Records show that envoys traveled between the city and Europe and neighboring Asian countries, and it is believed that there were also residential areas for foreign merchants within the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1767<\/strong>The city was burned down by an attack from the Burmese (Myanmar) army, and the inhabitants were scattered. Examples of representative temple ruins are as follows (names are common spellings):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wat Phra Si Sanphet<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Built in 1491 by King Boromtrailokkanat on the site of the palace from the time of the first King Uthon (Ramathibodo I), this royal temple is considered one of the most prestigious royal buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mahathat<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is one of the important temples of the 13th century, known for its Buddha heads embedded in trees, headless Buddha statues, and the foundations of a collapsed years it has resurfaced along with the tree roots.<\/p>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Wat Chaiwatthanaram<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Because the central shrine and stupa are so well-preserved, you can strongly feel the atmosphere of that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, its location along the Chao Phraya River makes it a popular spot for taking photos of sunsets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that admission fees, opening hours, and repair status vary from temple to temple and from year to year.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<div THB (approximately 390 yen at the time).<\/p>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Access information to Ayutthaya<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bangkok<\/strong>From there, you have several options, including trains (e.g., Northern Line trains to Ayutthaya station), minivans, and day tours. The train has second-class seats and third-class seats (which are relatively cheaper), with different prices. Third-class seats do not have air conditioning, only fans, but you can enjoy the pleasant breeze coming through the windows, and traveling in an older train car is a charming experience. Note that if you buy your ticket at the last minute, you may not be able to secure a seat and may have to stand, so buy your ticket early.<\/p>\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n\t\n\n\n\n<p>The weather tends to be hot, so if you&#039;re going to be walking around...<strong>hydration<\/strong>and<strong>Hats and sun protection<\/strong>This is essential.
